I got a Mac!

October 23, 2012

I finally did it. I bought me a Mac :)

I've been wanting one for a while now. However, I couldn't justify the expense when I had a desktop and small laptop of my own along with hubby's laptop. When my laptop kept freezing/dying on me I stopped getting it fixed. Those $75 every month was adding up. Then my desktop was soooo slow! All-the-time! I don't get why either because I cleaned the crap out if it. I saved all my docs and pics and erased them from it. And our Internet is pretty fast so I don't know what was the deal there. I just knew I couldn't take it much longer especially with my online classes. So I decided to get a new laptop and why not just go for what I wanted. I was already planning in getting it next year. A few months earlier wasn't going to hurt. Right?! So I went to the Apple store and walked out with a MacBook.

So far I haven't gotten the change to really explore it like I want because I've been so busy. I only log in for what I need and log right off. There are def some things I don't quite understand how to do yet so I need to get myself into gear soon. But for now I'm pleased with my purchase :)

That's all folks. You see, there's more than a baby in the oven going on in my life right now ;)

Sweet Dreams!

28 Weeks

October 21, 2012

*A little late sorry.

How far along? 28 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +10
Maternity clothes? I am officially not a size small anymore. On anything. I went out and bought medium tops to wear with my scrubs for work and just for daily use. They were really cheap so if I don't wear them post pregnancy it wouldn't hurt. Now jeans, that's another issue. I refuse to buy new jeans or pregnancy jeans. I think is a waste, plain and simple. So I may need to stock up on sweat pants and leggings.
Stretch marks? None. Nada. Nothing. Which is fine by me ;)
Sleep: Blah. Need I say more? I sleep and is like closing my eyes for a bit. Even nap times are getting harder. I just want to cry.
Best moment this week: Having our growth ultrasound. It was the best feeling thus far. My mom came with me and as soon as the tech touched my belly all you saw was baby cuteness. All facial details. The tech quickly turned it to 3D and it was magical. Such a beautiful moment. Baby is growing accordingly and is weighting 2lbs 3oz. Fluid is also looking good. Another best moment was finishing up the baby shower invites which was a DIY project just wait till you see it. Super cute!
Have you told family and friends? Yes
Miss Anything? Sleep!
Have you started to show yet? Yes. A lot. And I'm feeling it too now more than ever. For now. I'm sure it'll get worse.
Movement: Yes. AJ was pretty calm this week which had me worried but tonight he's back to his old self. During the ultrasound they told me he still has lots of room in there so I'm assuming it was just his position that made the movements less noticeable. By the way baby is not head down like I thought. He's head is actually resting right on me left ribs.
Food cravings: Soup. Any kind of soup but mainly Sancocho. My mom said she'll be making one this week and I bought a few ingredients to make some soup at home this coming week.
Anything making you queasy or sick: still the prenatals and from time to time water.
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: omg I've been so soar again. Feels like I'm back in the first trimester my twins are just overly sensitive.
Belly Button in or out? We have an outie :)
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody: I'm actually pretty happy right now. But don't mistake me. I'm just the messenger :)
Looking forward to: handing out invites. Maternity/family pictures next weekend. Halloween. Thanksgiving dinner lol I know I know. Kind if early to think of that. Or is it?

27 Weeks!

October 10, 2012

How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +9
Maternity clothes? I recently bought a few larger shirts to wear for work. I find that Old Navy clothes run big so a small is more like a medium for me so I figured if I get a couple I may still wear them after delivery. We'll see.
Stretch marks? Nope. None yet and the itchiness have subsided a lot so yaayyy! for that. Still I got some time left so the waiting game is still on.
Sleep: Still bad. It fluctuates from week to week but still it's been bad. Last night I slept 11 hours straight without waking up 3x for a bathroom run like usual but when I woke up this morning I felt like I had just closed my eyes. I'm really looking forward to this weekend off to really sleep in. I need to catch up on it.
Best moment this week: I've been having crazy pressure "down there" and my weekly update app told me that this could be cause possibly by baby getting into the birthing position. That got me both excited and freaked out a bit. Then I had my check up today and everything was perfectly fine. Right where it should be I also got a glimpse of baby AJ because the doc wanted to measure my fluids :) the tech was a total bitch (excuse my French) who looked like she hated her job, or maybe me. Ugh! Luckily my growth ultrasound Friday will not be with her. Yes!
Have you told family and friends? Yes
Miss Anything? Sleep!
Have you started to show yet? Yes. I'm growing but I still feel small for gestation. At least my weight is increasing so I know baby is growing and hubby tells me that I'm probably not gaining do much weight or look bigger because baby is taking it all for him and because I lost so much at the beginning but I still can't help but to worry.
Movement: Yes. Baby boy has been BUSY this past week. I'm loving it! I love feeling him move. I wish I could see inside my womb.
Food cravings: Hot dogs! The ones with cheese in the middle. Best part is that the fix said as long as its well cooked I can eat it :D hecks yea! You know I was all over it, I need to restock already.
Anything making you queasy or sick: my prenatals. They leave a metal ish taste in my mouth and make me burp so much. I can't stand it. I'm about to switch over to gummies.
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: dies sleepiness count? If so just that.
Belly Button in or out? We have an outie people. We have an outie :)
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Both and I would say pretty much equally.
Looking forward to: lots of things. Our growth ultrasound this Friday. Handing out invites. Starting decoration projects. Pregnancy pictures at the end of the month. Belly painting. And more importantly going part time. Wooohooo!

Life Changes

October 9, 2012

I haven't been the best blogger lately. Of course that's nothing new. I go through periods. There are days I have a kazillion things to talk about while others I have nada. Today I bring you life changes in the work department. It is official, night shift has caught up with me. Combine that with pregnancy and changes need to be made.

I had a plan. I really did. Night shift seemed to be working out great for me, at first. But then I started getting sick more. I usually get sick twice a year and that's when the season changes in fall/winter and spring. Other than that I'm healthy as can be. But lately I swear I've been sick every other week. If its not a throat infection is a respiratory one. If its not a cold is a fever. And honestly I'm getting sick and tired of it.

Now lets talk about insomnia. My new BFF. I can't seem to get rid of her. Some days I have great sleep but that only last a few days. Then I go back to sleeping 3-4 hours in a 24 hour period. Not bueno my friends! I need to rest and feel well rested to succeed at my wifely and motherly duties. If not it all goes down the drain. All of it!

Most importantly quality time with my boys. I'm not going to lie night shift has brought unnecessary issues into my marriage and from what I hear from nurses and other co workers I'm not the only one. Night shift affects many relationships and I can testify to that. We're never on the same page. We hardly see each other let alone talk. My husband work hours vary. Some days he goes in between 3-5am and others at 6-7am. Both times making it impossible for us to see each other in the morning. Then being that he goes to the gym after work and some days I start I 7pm we don't see each other in the evening either. There are weeks we go up to 3 and 4 days without seeing each other. At all! Just talking on the phone briefly to make sure we're alive.

Now you must be wondering what about the child? Yes my friend that's another issue. I hardly see my son and that's the worse heartbreak of all of this. In a 168 hr week I spend about 60hrs with him. Now that's sad :( I feel horrible and the more I miss him and think about it the more I become convince that action must be taken. So I've made a decision, or so I hope.

I've decided to go part time by the end of the month. It was already in the plans for after my maternity leave was over and honestly if I think about it I'll only have to suck it up 2 more months before I go on maternity leave but time is precious and I miss my son and husband. I figured if I start part time now I can spend some QT with my son and prepare him for the new addition as well as spend more time with the hubby and block off any tensions that might have been built over the past months. Because in all honesty if things don't get fix now they surely won't get fixed with a newborn in the house. And the last thing I need is to welcome postpartum depression into my life.

I feel a little unsure of my decision but something needs to be done now before things get worse later. I'm putting my family first and I have faith that things will work out, they just have to. Don't you think?

Well friends, that's all my rambling and venting for now. Y'all have a goodnight now!

xoxo
