RN to BSN

September 6, 2021

Nursing I am so excited to share with you that I completed my BSN!

If you've been here a while you have read about my journey, struggles, and frustrations with nursing school. I literally started school around the same time I started this blog and it took me forever to complete this goal of mine. Yet with every let down, with every frustration, with every set back, I didn't give up. I had set up my mind that this is what I wanted and there was no plan B. I was determined to become a nurse and I did it! I hope that my story and journey inspires you and that YOU never give up on YOUR hopes and dreams no matter what happens. You can do anything you set your mind to, you just have to believe in yourself and do the work.

After I graduated nursing school and passed Nclex I started to work as a staff RN in med/surg. Not my dream job but I was on the right path, or so I thought. After I stopped working last year I took sometime to myself to evaluate life in the middle of a worldwide pandemic and to be home with my littles. Later in the year I decided that while I was home I might as well do something productive with my life and so I started taking online classes to get my BSN.

I attended Chamberlain University and I enjoyed my time there. The professors were amazing and classes were not as bad as I had supposed. Their goal is to help you succeed and they equip you with the necessary tools to do so. It was definitely a lot easier then my time in nursing school and I truly did learn a lot and enjoyed many of the classes. Do I recommend them? Yes!

I completed my last class at the end of June and several weeks later I received my diploma in the mail. I am so glad that this journey is finally over (For now). It took a lot longer than what I had hoped but what's important is that I did it. Now comes the exciting part, finding my niche. There are so many options in nursing and although my dream has always been to be an OB nurse I don't know if that's the right move right now. I am letting God direct my path here and I know that whatever I do it'll be what I am meant to do at this time in my life.

For now, I will cherish the last few weeks/months I have left at home with my growing little ones. And I would like to remind you that you are in charge of your future, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Just go for it!
