About Me

Hi and Welcome!

I'm Pamela and this is my little corner of the web. I learned about blogging while planning our destination wedding and decided to document that journey as a wedding in paradise. After it was all over and I entered married bliss I decided to start documenting my married life and all the adventures that was to come.

A little about me:
I was born and partially raised in the Dominican Republic. I'm the oldest of 4 and usually the youngest among my friends. I married my high school sweetheart in 2011. I'm the proud mother of two precious boys (2006, 2011). I'm a nursing student who is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel after 4 years of part time courses. Lastly, I'm a down to earth and shy girl. Family and friendships are very important to me and I have great faith in our heavenly father. I would love to travel around the world to as many places as possible. I have a passion for food like you wouldn't believe. My husband says he eats to live and I say I live to eat :) I guess opposites do attract.

I met my husband in February of 2005, our senior year in high school. You can find our story here and here. He proposed in 2009 while we were on a trip visiting friends in California. You can read about that here. I then joined The Knot and met fabulous girls who would play a big role in this journey and become lifelong friends. I got a little DIY crazy and did many projects myself for our wedding. I love details and those special touches that often get unnoticed. Our wedding was full of little details, from barefoot sandals to scented invitations to monogramed isle runner most which were DIY projects and I would do it again in a heart beat.

We did a "let's go fishing" photo shoot for our engagement pictures to add a little personal touch of who we are. It couldn't have turned out better.

After two years of planning, stressing, and saving we traveled to Punta Cana, DR and vowed to love each other for better or worse, sickness or health, till death do us part. It was one of the most amazing and memorable day of my life. You can read about our day here and here. It was very intimate and romantic with very special guests and a fun beach bonfire with s'mores. The day after the wedding we did a trash the dress session on the beach which was lots of fun and sexy. Again, I would do this in a heartbeat.

Is no lie when they say that the first year of marriage is the hardest. I didn't think we would survive it but we did vow for better or worse and thanks to our Lord Jesus that has made our love and relationship stronger.

Now lets back up a bit to 2006, the year we welcomed our firstborn. He changed our world with his beautiful smile and loving personality.

Meet Steven

10 months after our wedding we found out we were expecting our second child. We found out the gender of our sweet boy in a gender reveal party surrounded by family and friends in August 2012 and after what seemed to be a pregnancy of over a year we welcomed Adrián Joel in our life on January 3, 2013.

Being a mother of two has being great and also challenging. Throw in school, breastfeeding, cloth diapers, and the end of maternity leave and you have chaos. I'm learning to adjust, multitask, and to stay organized and on track. I'm happy to be able to document our life and changes as it happens and I'm sure I'll thank myself in the future for being able to look back on the adventures, frustrations, and happiness of my married life. So welcome, and I hope you decide to stay :)

In 2012 we were also blessed with a gifted house which we are now turning into a home. Many projects have been started with many more to come. God has blessed us immensely and I look forward to what other adventures lie ahead.

Last but not least meet King, our one year old English Bulldog. He's as lazy as they can get and I have no complains :)

This blog has became an important part of my life and although I don't blog often, at times, it's still important to me. Here you will read a combination of my daily life as a mommy, wife, working mom, student, and much more.
