Our wedding video has finally arrived. I am thrilled! There are no words to explain how much happiness I'm feeling.
My day started like any other. A long and boring night at work. Followed by 2 hours in my morning class where I may or may have not dozed off a bit. A grumbling stomach. And a 30 minutes drive back home.
When I get home I usually like to stay in my car for a little. My car is my "me zone" that's my bubble. As soon as I park in the driveway I stay in my car sometimes just relaxing. Other times I talk on the phone, browse the web, shop, blog, nap, or cry my heart out. That's my time to disconnect myself from the world for a few minutes for me, to analyze my life. This morning it just happened that I was in my car catching up on Facebook. When I saw the mailman I didn't think nothing of it.
About 15 minutes later he was still there and my iPhone rang. It was the hubby. He asked where I was. That I had a package and the mailman wouldn't leave it unless I signed for it. I told him ok that I'll be right there. I wondered what it could of been since I wasn't really expecting nothing big like that. So I come out and apologize to the mailman. We exchanged a few words and I quickly glanced at the package to see where it came from. It literally took 2 seconds. As soon as I saw the GT logo I was in cloud nine :D I couldn't believe it had arrived so fast. They told me it was going to be mailed on Monday so I wasn't expecting it till at least Wednesday. But I wasn't complaining no sir I was not. I went inside and contemplated about waiting for the hubs to come home to open it. Yea it didn't work out like that. I didn't have to think about it twice. He wasn't going to feel the same way I felt about a DVD anyways so I unwrapped that baby. Lol
The package was nicely wrapped. The little gifts, candy/popcorn, we're so cute and thoughtful. I called Steven right away and asked what time he was coming home from work. In the meantime the whole Facebook, twitter, and instagram knew what was happening in Pamela's world. Hey what can I say :)
About 2 hours later, what seemed to be a whole 8 more months when Steven arrived home, he barely got a chance to open up the peanuts M&Ms when the wedding video popped up in the TV screen. It was the best day I've had since 2012 started. I laughed, smiled a lot!, and cryed... also a lot. Tears of joy of course. I've dreamed of reliving our wedding day for months now and that day had finally arrived. You can't even begin to imagine my excitement. Not even Steven could of related to how much joy I was feeling inside and out. The video was more than what I expected. I feel so blessed to have crossed paths with these wonderful people that today I call my friends. I will certainly recommend them to everyone I know and will be using them again for sure.
Caritza and Gabriel you guys have made me a very very very happy bride/wife. I cannot thank you enough. I wish you both the very best in life. We love ya!
Here are some pictures of my happy moments open my, our package.

Friday, after I got out of work I finished getting all packed up and after dropping off my son at my mother's, I started my hour drive down to Philadelphia to meet up with some friends I had made while planning my wedding on The Knot. There are a total of 18 girls and after our weddings we kept in touch. Back in the summer of last year one of the girls found out that she was expecting her first child and we decided that closer to her due date those who were able were going to take a weekend trip down to VA beach, where she lives for a get together (GTG). February couldn't come fast enough. I was super excited to meet some of the girls I talk to on a daily basis but had never met in real life (IRL) with the exception of one who happens to live an hour away from me and who I've had the pleasure of meeting twice :)
And so my awesome weekend began. Three of us were meeting up in Philly and two more were driving down from Connecticut and Massachusetts and were going to make a quick stop along the way to pick us (3) up. After a few wrong turns and an hour wait we finally met and started the drive to Maryland to meet up with 3 more girls and spend the night.
The drive to MD was longer then expected due to traffic caused by an accident. I ended up falling asleep because I had worked the night before and hadn't slept all day. Finally around 11:30ish pm we arrived. There the awesome girls had dinner waiting for us. On the menu they had salad, corn, rolls, and homemade crab cakes yum! After our late dinner we headed to our assigned homes for the night.
The next morning we all meet at the home were I had slept at and ate a delicious breakfast made by Amanda, the house owner. We got in our cars and again started the drive to Virginia. The drive was right under 4 hours and we made it by 11ish am. The baby shower started around 2pm and it was awesome! Brandi, the mommy-to-be, got great gifts from us all and from those girls who couldn't make it. We also got surprised by one of the girls who flew east from Arizona. That was such a sweet touch, I wasn't expecting it. I hoped it but wasn't expecting it at all. After a few games, laughs, food, pictures, and talks 8 of us headed down to the boardwalk to check in to our hotel. Later that night we went out for dinner at a Mexican restaurant and hen back to Brandi's for more pictures and some wine :)
The next morning we met for breakfast, which was delicious by the way, and then we said our goodbyes. It was a great weekend and although we spent the majority of it on the road it was better then I expected it to be. The ride back home was fun. We talked, stopped like 3 times for bathroom breaks and junk food snacks, and saw interesting things along the way. It took us about 5 hours to get to Chery Hill, NJ and by 7:15pm I was home.
I'm happy that the hubs was okay with me going away to spend the weekend with total strangers, sort of. It was a well needed time-away-from-home with just girls. Now I'm looking forward to next weekend's girls night with my home girls and my weekend getaway with the hubs in early March. In the meantime check out some of the pictures of this weekend taken by Brea, one of the MD girls.

King became part of our family a little over 3 weeks ago. He is an English Bulldog. DH got him from one of his cousins that owns King's mommy and daddy. He was exactly 6 weeks when we got him and he was adorable! Well he still is.
I'm not an animal person whatsoever. I like watching other people dress up their puppies and walk them, take care of them, and treat them like part of their family. It puts a smile on my face. But when it comes to my own, um well yea it never works out. I don't like cleaning up after them or just being responsible for walking them, taking them to the vet, ect ect. Having a pet is like having a child and I have so much respect for those people who have them.
I tell the hubs that King is his not mine. I consider him part of the family and I'll take him out and feed him if need be but I don't want to be the "owner/mommy". I might sound cold hearted and I'm sorry I just have a thing for hairs and dog saliva. Those things freaks me out and even touching him makes me run to the sink to wash my hands.
I do have to admit the I'm falling in love with King. He's so smart and adorable. And that face of his is too cute! When DH comes home with him from work I call out "Puppy" in this high pitch voice and King runs to me and runs in circles around me. Is the best feeling and sometimes I feel guilty for not caring for him like my own child. Still I have a feeling that sooner then later he will win me over. Shhh don't say that to DH :) I also love how our son loves him so much. He's been wanting siblings and having King around has made him relax a bit on the topic. He cares for him like that's his own child. He has so much love for him I love looking at him and those big eyes full of love for his pup.
So without further ado please meet King.

I'm a day late on this but it's ok.
Well, Valentine is one of my favorite holiday, it is a holiday right? One is because is during the month of February and two because in on the month that I meet my husband.
This year we celebrated V~Day by me cooking a nice meal for the hubs. It was a shrimp day in my house. I made
Shrimp and Scallop dip/sauce thing
Shrimpo de gallo
Shrimp Cocktail
Fettuccini Shrimp Alfredo
Guacamole
Tostones
A whip cream, yogurt, and strawberry dessert
And we had some some wine
It was delicious and we weren't that stuff believe it or not. We ate in moderation in order to have a bit of everything. I ended up sending the leftover to my mom though :)
After dinner we went to the movies to watch The Vow. It was very good. I loved it! So did the hubs. Then we just came home and relax. It sucked that this year Valentine's was on a Tuesday but we still managed to enjoy the day and relax before work the next day.
And to top it of my darling husband surprised me with a Vera Wang perfume that I've been dying to buy. Every time he went to the store it was sold out and finally he had to special order it to get it for Valentine's day. What a sweetheart isn't he? :) He made my night. And so did my son with a box of chocolate he got for me.
How did you spent your Valentine's Day?

It might seem like I have abandoned my 101 in 1001 list but I havent. Really. I actually been busy trying to get things checked off. The only problem is that I haven't been blogging about it. Oops, sorry.
So far I've done the number frame inspired by Pinterest.
This was super easy. I spent $10 on the frame and I printed the numbers from my home printer using a nice light blue color paper I had left over from previous wedding projects.
I'm also working on a newlywed map.
I saw this on Heather's Drive blog and I loved it! I loved it so much that I ended up getting the same color map she got. I just wasn't feeling the colors they had available and I saw so much potential for it in this color for when we buy our house. Our map will be a newlywed/family map. I'm using 2 colors for the tacks, black for family trips and white for couple trips.
Another project I've been working on is the Name and Est. Date Wall Art.
This is a bit different because the letters are taken from Alphabet Photography - something that has me intrigued and that I plan on doing myself :). I first saw this on Etsy and then saw a friend that made one as DIY to give to another friend. I couldn't pass on it. I bought everything I needed, all I need to finish this is create the document on publisher and print it out. I'm super excited to see how it looks. Depending on how ours turns out I'm thinking of doing a couple for a friend and mother-in-law for their anniversary.
Things being checked off the list are ...
-Date nights and family nights. We've done quite a few the last couple of months but I won't be blogging about them all. You'll have to take my word for it and I promise not to lie.
-I've started working on increasing my vocabulary.
-Last month I blogged 10x+ and it looks like I will do the same this month too so if I continue to do this I can check of #28 on the list.
-My workout routine have been blah! so next week I will be joining a gym with a friend.
-Like I've mentioned before I've been cooking a lot recently. This means I'm collecting recipes for my family cookbook and trying more daring recipes. Soon I will start food blogging.
-We are currently working on paying off credit cards, getting life insurance, and saving more.
-I've been organizing a lot lately around the house. That makes me feel very happy :) and for some reason lighter too lol ;)
-At the end of the month I'm hosting a girls night at my place :)
-I plan on indulging on a top notch spa day for my birthday next month.
Lots of things going on here. Make sure you check often for fun and interesting blog posts :)

A few more DIY projects I'm working on are
Daily calendar. This is made from index cards (I'm using color ones). What I'm doing is that I write the day and month on the top like shown here and on the lines I put the year and something that happened that day. I try to keep whatever I write the length of the line that way all the cards have the same amount of years. I started this in December of 2011 but missed a lot of days. Then I skipped January so I think I'll just stick with February as my starting month. We'll see how that goes but if I keep this up I'll have 10 years worth of memories for every single day and it will not take up much space at all. Whoever came up with this idea is freaking Awesome! I cannot thank them enough.
Frame love notes is something cute I also found on Pinterest. Right now I'm still searching for the perfect frame but the concept of this is that you place line paper inside the frame and with dry erase markers you leave love notes to your partner, or even kids. This is great for me to do because DH and I miss each other all the time. He starts work at 4am ad I don't get in until 7am and so on and so forth so leaving each other love notes by our bed side is a way of staying connected even from afar.
I'm assuming this is a key chain?. You know what they say about lucky pennies right? Well I want to keep a few lucky pennies with my family birth years with me at all times. Call me crazy but whatever, that's just me. I'm doing our birth years for the hubs, son, and I and our wedding year because to me on those years I was blessed :) I will add more pennies when we have more children.
This is a DIY picture frame I also found on Pinterest. I'm using the foam core I have left over from my newlywed/family map and pictures of us throughout the years. I will post directions on how I made this when I complete it.
I'm excited to show you all how everything turns out!

Once again tragedy strikes.

Life has been busy around here. Although I can't complain because I've been having a lot of fun living up to my new title as a "wife".
Let's go back to 2 weekends ago.
I've been meaning to blog about our new member of the family but haven't gotten the chance to. I promise to dedicate him a post of his own but for right now meet King. Our English bulldog. The hubs brought him home 2 weeks ago on a Friday when he was 6 weeks. He's 8weeks now.
During the week I've been cooking a lot more regularly. I've made all types of food from Ecuadorian to Dominican plates. The hubs and son have been eating good is all I can say. I want to start food blogging but don't really know how to go about it. I've been cooking every day but I don't think I should blog food everyday. I'm thinking of just doing special meals or unique/first time meals. We'll see what I decide. I'll probably start this weekend because I made Chili for the first time the other day and it was delicious! Yesterday I made a Dominican meal that I haven't made in like forever so I want to blog about that too.
I've also been very crafty decorating our place. I did a couple DIY projects inspired by Pinterest and by a blog I follow along with other things I've picked up over the past 2 years.
The weekend that just passed we celebrated Steven cousin's big 30 and it was fun! We went to the Brewworks for dinner then we headed downstairs to their bar and around 10ish pm we went dancing at a Spanish club who happened to have one of my favorite singers live that night. La India, have you heard her music? We had a blast :) the following day we went out for dinner at a Hibachi Restaurant and I endulged in sushi. I've been feening it for awhile and lets just say I ate enough to last me the rest of the year. Well maybe I can go one more time. Or two ;)
This week has been hectic with school and work. I feel like I'm falling behind and I can't let that happen. Taking 4 classes is definitively a challenge but I know I can do it if I put my mind to it. I just have to prioritize my life which sadly is missing out on a board I'm part of with other brides that I planned my wedding with. That takes a lot of my time so I'll have to back off for awhile.
This weekend I work Friday to Tuesday 12 hours shift everyday. It is going to suck! I'm dreading it but it will all be worth it when I head out to VA beach next Friday with the girls from the board. I'm really excited about that :)
Also I'm thinking about joining the A-Z challenge starting in April. More on that later this month but for now feel free to check it out here.
I'm also going to be doing "My day in pictures" created by fatmumslim. I've been having lots of fun doing the photoaday challenge so I'm thinking on doing a full day of pictures. I'm just waiting to decide which day I should do it so be on the lookout :)
And lastly I'm sad to announce that our puppy had his first accident. Our son likes carrying him a lot and he's pretty heavy. Meaning the dog. We tell him not to carry him but he hardly listens and often does it behind our backs anyways. So last night he put him to "sleep" on his bed and the dog fell :( poor thing was crying and in pain. We don't think he broke anything and are waiting until Monday to see how he's doing if not we'll be taking him to the vet. I think he might have a fracture because he wasn't himself all day today. I feel so bad for him. He's so tiny.
Well I guess I should wrap this up since I need to be at work soon.
What have you been up to? Anything interesting?
Have a safe weekend!
xoxo

Have a safe weekend!
xoxo
Pamela
