One of my favorite drinks and a very popular one in the Dominican Republic. It's translation means "to die dreaming" and boy does that name fit well.
I remember my mom making this drink in my childhood. Then I learned and we drank it so much we got sick of it. Well not really but we did in fact had to take a break from it :)
It's very easy to make, hence why I started food/drink blogging with it. As stated on my 101 in 1001 list I should be cooking at least 3x a week. So I decided to food blog 3 meals a week as well as 1 drink or dessert to get started in checking that off my list.
Here's how to make this drink.
Ingredients:
*1 12 fl oz frozen concentrated orange juice (you can use fresh oranges as well)
* 2 12 fl oz can of evaporated milk
*1/2 cup of sugar
*2 1/2 cups of ice cubes
*1 tsp of vanilla
Preparation:
1. Mix the sugar and milk and stir until all the sugar has dissolved. (I put this mix in the freezer to get cold while I wait for the orange juice to thaw)
2. Add the ice to the milk and stir.
3. Add the vanilla extract while stirring.
4. Slowly pour the orange juice to the milk mixture while stirring (according to my mom this part is very important. Do Not stop stirring)
5. Serve immediately and enjoy.
If you try it I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. :)

******WARNING: Spoilers Below******
I finally found the time, and energy, to go watch the movie this past weekend. Obviously movies do no justice to the books and I wasn't sure what to expect for this one after the reviews. What I can say is that I was a bit disappointed. Here are my reasons.
*There was hardly any noise during the movie. Meaning not much talking. I know the books are base more the character's thoughts but seriously this was taken overboard in the movies with all that silence.
*Lots of parts that were in the book were not in the movie. Example, in the beginning when Katniss is struggling to find water. Or when she hurries Rue. Also the overdrafts were non existence. They weren't around for any of the tributes death.
*The games seemed very easy in the movie compared to the book.
*Peeta and Katniss's relationship seemed weak. I did not feel the same way as I did reading the book as I did with movie. The chemistry was missing and I couldn't tell much about how Peeta felt. Whether he was truly in love or using Katniss to win.
*I also don't remember in the book about district eleven rebelling for Rue's death. Though I was told that was in the second book. I wished they would if shown the gift they sent Katniss instead.
*Lastly the dog-like creatures that were in the end were not as scary as they seemed in the book. They honestly just looked like Pitbulls dogs to me.
Things that I did like were.
*The several scenes they showed of Gale. In the book I wondered how he must of felt watching the relationship between Katniss and Peeta and I was able to tell he wasn't to happy with it.
*I liked how they showed the "game room" with everyone working and all the cameras, etc etc.
*I loved loved loved the welcome outfits they were wearing in the Capitol. It was everything I expected and more :) I was really looking forward to this part.
*And obviously the characters. I think they all did a great job in the movie. I can't wait to see the second part. ;)
I'm sure there were more things I like and dislike but as of right now nothing else comes to mind. Although I was a bit disappointed I did like the movie and will be buying it when it comes out on DVD.
aren't they just handsome :)

Here it is.
This week, March 12-18, was Spring Break at school and since it was my birthday week I decided to take the week off from work. I had worked that Monday so technically my vacation didn't start until Tuesday the 13.
On Tuesday a friend and I made plans to go visit our other friend who had given birth to her first born. A baby girl. She lives about an hour away without traffic. We waited to drop off the kids at school and then we drive down. We got there right at the hour marked by the GPS and it was so nice to finally have met previous Layla. We ended the night at my friend Zoila's place with the hubbies, kids, and Chinese food.
Wednesday was a laid back day. I think I must of gotten sick from the food the night before because I woke up V&D and got worse as the day progressed. Needless to say my Wednesday was spent in bed sleeping all day long. Fun!
Thursday I feel much better though this was the day that my darling husband decided to trade his four wheeler for a motorcycle. Lots if tension in the house this day. I stood home all day because I didn't want to risk getting more sick because I wanted to celebrate my birthday as planned. So I laid low trying on a kazillion potential birthday outfits.
Before I knew it Friday had arrived. Happy Birthday To Me! I took my son to school then came back home and started to get ready. I did my hair and makeup really nice. Wore a cute 25ish year old looking outfit, whatever that means. Around 1ish we headed to the spa where we, meaning Zoila and I, got manicures and pedicures along with a body massage Aaahh so refreshing. This place we went to was phenomenal! I was treated very nice, got lots of complements on my outfit, especially my shoes, and even got served wine as a birthday treat :) I will be going back for sure. best part of this was that once I was all done and went to pay my bill was already taken care of. Que/What??? Yup my amazing friend Zoila had paid it as a birthday gift. That was real sweet of her :)
Now I know you must me wondering why I had make up on when I was getting a massage. Truth is that I totally forgot about it. After the massage I ended up washing my face and reapplying the makeup.
We headed back to Zoila's place and we chilled there until later that night. I want to say maybe until 8pm.
We already had plans to go out dancing to a Spanish club so I didn't think nothing of it until I overheard, by mistake if course, Steven talking in the phone and he was telling someone to just go to the club and not to worry. That everything was paid for. Ooohh?! :)
I didn't say nothing about it but was kind if bummed that I knew what he had planned. I tried to stay focused and act surprised when we walked in but it didn't take much. I was truly surprised when I saw my college girls there. Yaayyyy! The highlight of the night, among other things. I had invited them and they all gave me lame excuses. Later I found out that Steven had gotten to them first and told them to make me believe they couldn't make it. How sweet is my husband :) he also had a Tres Leche Cake, balloons, and had the club photographer take pictures of us. He did a great job so I need to start planning his birthday bach.
We had a great night. Lots of dancing and pictures. Obviously there was alcohol for my alcoholic friend (lol Just kidding. They're not alcoholics. Yet.) I only had two beers and a shot. Yaayy me! I've been staying away from hard liquor and transitioning to wine instead. I don't need to drink to have a goid time. Give me a DJ, a dance floor, and a partner and I'm good to go! Oo and may e some water too;).
After the club we headed to the hookah lounge for about an hour then the hubby and I called it a night. We went home with his drunk brother who vomited all over Steven's SUV. Not fun!
On Saturday we had family day at Hershey, PA. My younger sister is in a private school over there and since it was my brother's birthday earlier this month too we decided to go visit her. We shopped, spent family quality time, and ate out.
Later that night after everyone was asleep my son decided to get up for something to drink. He decided for a Popsicle and used a knife to open it. *gasp* yes he cut his finger but instead if coming to get us he tried to go to go upstairs to ask his grandmother because he was afraid we were going to scream at him. Since the door was locked he opted to be his own nurse and wasted a rolled of paper towel. Once he realized that the bleeding wasn't going to stop he came to our room in tears. Not because he was in pain but because he was afraid of what we were going to say. lol. You gotta love him!
I of course panicked when I heard him say "mom I'm bleeding". We woke up right away to find a mess of blood in the kitchen. We stopped the bleeding. Cleaned up. Talked to him calmly. And we all went to bed together. What a night!
Sunday was more relaxing. We had family day again however this time it was just us three. We bought some subway for dinner and went to eat it at the park since the weather was beautiful. later that night we went home and sat together on the living room to watch a movie. It was the perfect ending.
I had different activities in mind that I wanted to do and had planned for a very very long time but that didn't happen and honestly I'm glad. I'm glad because this was a perfect way to celebrated my 25th birthday. With my closest friends and family. Surrounded by the people that truly love me and care and are willing to do nice things for me like pay for my spa day ;). I'm even more happy that I'm able to write this week's events down and be able to look back on it in the years to come. To me blogging is not about attracting readers, which in any case is a plus. I think of blogging as a public journal where I can share my thoughts. The small details that are often overlooked. The good and the bad. The new adventures and old memories. The funny and the sad. What makes it even more awesome is that I'm allowing others into my life. To get to know me through my rumblings. And to share my life with those that are far and can relate. It not. It's just so refreshing to let it all out and to come back it it and re live it. Technology couldn't be sweeter. :)
Thanks for stopping by. Now ready yourself for picture overload. :)

I have 2 post that are long overdo. Our B&B weekend getaway in Lancaster, PA and my birthday week recap. These post should be up by this week the latest. I Promise.
On Friday March 2nd I got out of work like usual. I went home and again did the usual. Got my son ready, took him to school, showered, ate, etc etc. Then I packed some last minute things and laid back waiting for the hubs to get out from work.
Around 1:30pm he gets home. For some reason we didn't get on the road until 4ish pm making our arrival time 6:30pm. I was a bit bummed because I really wanted to arrive early to do some activities that they only have on the first Friday of every month. Either way since I was really tired so Steven drove while I took a nap. I had asked him to wake me once we got close because I heard that the scenery was very pretty. Well that didn't happened. Either he was being nice and let me sleep longer or I was too tired and my eyes refused to wake up haha.
Once we arrived the Bed & Breakfast looked just like in the pictures. We were super excited to go inside. The owners greeted us as well as their yellow lab (who I swear had a crush on me lol). They showed us around, took us to our room, asked us what time did we want breakfast, and gave us great tips on places to eat. We weren't really hungry because we ate something on our way there still we went out to an Irish Pub. It was raining and the placed looked packed! I was a bit annoyed but whatever. We go inside and because we didn't have reservations we had to wait 1+ hours before being seated unless we wanted to sit at the bar. Obviously we opted for the bar that we later learned was in the patio. Which I thought was crazy since it was dark and rainy so imagine our surprise when we walk out back and the patio is lite up and Warm! Best feeling ever! It was like a green house. Glass windows every where with trees all over the place. It was huge. And packed. We order some appetizers, lobster quesadilla and a lobster dip which were amazing!, and I got wine while the hubby ordered a gin and tunic. Dessert was also to die for. After a few hours we headed back to the B&B popped in a movie and well you know. Called it a night.
The next morning breakfast was delicious. Then we headed downtown to a market were we ate Ethiopian food for lunch. Not what i was expecting but good enough. We drove about 15 miles and did an Amish buggy tour. That was exciting! Afterwards we went to the outlets, then Nissery Winery were we bought 5 of their wines. Yum! Around 5ish pm we headed back to the B&B. But first we picked up some snacks since we figured dinner was probably going to be around 8pm. We had plans to go to eat at an Alligator meat restaurant. Yeah that wasn't my idea and luckily we were so beat from being out all day that when we woke up from our nap it was almost midnight. Pheeew!
Before we knew it Sunday was here and it was time to pack again. Breakfast was delicious again :). Around noon we hit the roads back home. We had a nice drive back with awesome conversation and by 1:30p we were there. We dropped everything at the house got freshen up and went to pick up our son to take him to Chuckie Cheese.
It was a nice romantic weekend getaway. Just what we needed. Some one on one time. Though there is no place like home and that night I was glad to be sleeping on our own bed curled up with our son. Yes we let him sleep with us from time to time.
Lancaster was really nice, it was my first time there, and they had a lot of activities for families and kids. We've decided to visit again during the summer months this time with our son. I know he would love it there.

In reference to my post on motorcycles about a week ago I decided to take the plunge.
Saturday morning I get home from work and I'm super tired. Although I couldn't come to even think about falling to sleep because we had a busy day ahead. Steven tells me that he was going to the gym on his bike. Then he says. "You know babe I was thinking you should go riding with me today". Well that came out of no where. I know we've talked about it before still I wasn't 100% sold on it.
Either way I said Ok. I laid down for about an hour and a half and napped. It was hard falling asleep because my stomach hadn't digest the fact that I had agreed to ride a motorcycle. :-/
I had managed to fall asleep and a bit later Steven gets home and wakes me. I freshened up and wore his jacket that was humongous on me. He had an extra helmet for me too of course. He told me to "let's go" and I seriously thought that I was going to faint. lol.
I got on the bike and down the hill we went. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought. He was riding at a nice pace and the nice weather along with my tight grip on my man made it all feel very nice. Kind of romantic if I may add ;).
We were out for about 4 hours running errands and such. Our last stop was his father's house where I was able to take a couple of pictures next to the bike while he crossed the street to get his car for me to drive home.
Just because I enjoyed it doesn't mean I will be ridding often. Maybe once in a while to please him and I admit that for my own pleasure as well. There are rumors of me getting a helmet and jacket of my own... Umm we'll see about that.
Happy Tuesday Y'all!

This weekend felt very short yet we managed to do so much in just 2 days. Here is how it all went down.
-I worked a 12 on Friday night.
-Saturday morning after work I stopped by my moms to talk to my sister about her new job at a nursing home.
-went home and took a 1.5 hour nap
-went riding with Steven (my first time on a motorcycle. Actually 2nd) yup I did it. Post coming later on.
-ran lots of errands while on the bike. Like stopped at several stores to get prices on certains things we need for the house, went to the mall, and made a quick stop at the new house to decide what was going to be done on Sunday.
-had t-ball practice with Steven jr
-got dolled up to attend a wedding and bb shower
-had a great time at both places
-got home after 2am.
-on Sunday we got up at 9 and left to the new house @12is
-Sanded and painted the entry way and living room. Finished installing the electric heaters (everything was oil before) it sounds little in that amount of time but the living room and dining room are connected so the one wall is very long. That section of the house is just plain big. You'll see what I mean in pictures later in May.
-got home @9p and hit the bed till Monday at 1p. I was beat! And sleep deprived.
-woke up with a migraine that lasted all of Monday. And still have it right now. I'm at work and feel like crying. But I hate calling out.
Yup that sums up my super short/productive weekend.

Easter Love
On Easter we celebrate love,
love coming down from heaven,
love blanketing the earth
in a transforming embrace;
unique and infinite love,
giving more than we can imagine
for us, to cleanse our sin,
a perfect sacrifice, Lamb of God,
the walking, talking Word.
He is teacher, role model, friend,
this God in human form,
dying, then rising from the dead,
proving all who believe
will also rise
to have eternal life, with Him,
Lord of all.
Oh, Happy, Happy Easter!

I don't even know where to begin. My heart is beating so fast right now and my intestines feel like they want to leave my insides.
Last year around this time my darling husband got himself a motorcycle. About a month later he gave me THE scare of the year. He was involved in an accident on his darn motorcycle. It wasn't his fault which makes it even more difficult for me to accept his selfishness of getting another one. I should say for the record that he already bought one.
About 2-3 weeks ago he traded his four-wheeler for a motorcycle. He hasn't been using it much, still whenever he does I die until he's home safe and sound. I can't help it and even writing about it makes my heart beat 1000 beats per minutes and my eyes all watery.
After that scare last year I can't help not to worry. I care so much about this man that the thought of not having him around anymore makes my heart aches. I was told that I should face my fears and ride the bike with him. That maybe if I experience the thrill of it all I can somewhat understand why he loves it so much. And who knows maybe I'll start riding with him too. I honestly don't know what to do. I feel like I'm being irresponsible for risking my life, our lives when we have a young child. :(
I understand that when your time is up your time is up and there's nothing you can do about it. But why increase your changes? Do I make a point here? Ugh! I'm just so upset and worried and scared shitless :-/.
Please pray for my husbands life and for all those who have a motorcycle as well. I will be forever grateful.
xoxo
